A second life for unique and historic equipment!
PTV’s or Sky Lounges or Mobile Lounges, are not used much anymore but if you know these equipment, you know how rare they are.
However, some airports or situations still require their services and versatility.
Sunrise GSE has literally brought three of them back to life by completely rebuilding them while preserving the vintage feel of these giants of airport ramp transportation.
Whether it’s to increase your volume of operations without adding gates or bridges, or to allow for boarding farther away from the terminals, these telescopic buses have proven themselves.
Still in use at Washington Dulles, their survival depends on a complete overhaul of all systems.
Each unit underwent a complete rebuild from A to Z, starting with the structure, engines, generators, ventilation systems, floors, insulation, windows, electrical systems and electronics. Of course, the aesthetics are new. Italian leathers, wall and ceiling coverings. Everything is upgraded with the desire to remind us of the good old days when they entered the industry in 1970.
Now equipped with WIFI, TV, and entertainment system, the Sky lounge can also be used as a temporary waiting room extension capable of holding 102 passengers.
